The Best Grocery Shopping App
One of the most helpful apps I have found and definitely the best Grocery Shopping App is GroceryIQ. It is essentially an app where you can create a shopping list, but it has a TON of features to help you save money and time.
Organize your shopping list by store
With the Grocery IQ app, you can add any store you’d like and organize your list by store. Whenever you think of something you need from a particular store, put it in the app and then reference it the next time you’re there.
Organize your grocery shopping list by aisle
Are you a criss crosser like me? You know, when you get all the way to the end of the grocery store just to realize there are still items you have to cross off your list? So you end up going all the was back to the produce section or the spices aisle? Yeah. That’s totally me. With the Grocery IQ app you can add an item and it will automatically organize it by aisle. It’s brilliant!
Check off the item on your shopping list
Once you throw the item in your cart, just tap on it and it will be moved into the checkout section…whittling your list down and showing your progress.
Calculate your trip before you checkout
I use this feature a lot because I use e-meals. Grocery IQ lets you add a price for each item, which is awesome for 2 reasons:
- You can use it like I do with emeals to calculate exactly how much you’re going to spend (yeah, it automatically calculates your total). That way, you’ll know how much you are going to spend and resist the urge to overspend.
- You can record the prices of products that you buy regularly, Then, when you’re shopping at another store you can compare prices and see where you save the most.
Save favorite items on your grocery list
For those items that you buy on a regular basis, you can save them in the favorites section to quickly remember and add to your list.
Coupons
Did you say COUPONS?! Yep! Grocery IQ also has coupons! There’s a whole section of coupons you can clip and use through the app as well.
Email your shopping list
Oh no, we’re not done! Want your roommate or your husband to pick up the groceries? All you have to do is email the list to them within the app. YEP.
Share your shopping list from your desktop to your phone
Finally, if you’re like me, your thumbs get tired trying to add your whole grocery list on your phone. Well, Grocery IQ also has a website with the same function so you can add all of your items to your list while you’re on your computer and it will automatically sync to your phone. Better yet, if your roommate or husband is signed into the same account, they will get the list synced to their phone and a push notification to let them know the list has been updated.
I’ve tried to use the native to-do app and a couple other apps for keeping my grocery shopping list organized, but by far Grocery IQ is the best grocery shopping app I’ve found.

Do you use Grocery IQ? Do you like it? What other grocery shopping apps would you recommend?
brucekirs Thanks Bruce! I still use it and like it since the update, but I have noticed that it's started to crash. Hopefully they will fix it in the next update! Do you use another grocery shopping app?
@thegooch Sweet! I'm going to check it out right now. Thanks for the recommendation :)
