USA!

My sister Taylor just made these last night and they look AWESOME!

Supplies:

-An old pair of jean shorts

-red and blue fabric paint

-inch wide masking tape

-large star stickers.

Instructions:

Step 1: Position the star stickers on the left and paint over with blue fabric paint.

Step 2: Position the masking tape in stripes on the right side and paint over with red fabric paint.

Step 3: Let them dry.

Done!

Not only can you wear these shorts over 4th of July, but the Olympics are coming up soon! What a great way to show support for Team USA!

Taylor glued some rhinestones on to each button to give it a little extra pzazz. Also if you don’t have star stickers you can use wax or freezer paper and cut some stars out and tape them to the jeans. It works just as well but takes a lot more time.

What did you guys do for the white stars and stripes. Did you paint that seperately??? Just wondering b/c I'm assuming the jeans were totally blue before you started so when you put the tape on to paint the blue background and red stripes, once you removed the tape, the other portions showed the blue jean didn't it??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated!!! Just want to be sure I don't mess this up!!!! Thanks!!!!

would the paint run when you wash them?

Love these! I might have to try this for July 4th. Did you wash them after letting the paint dry to get the faded look?

kgl1213 Nope! She didn't wash them, she just did one coat so the paint sunk in to the shorts a bit. But I'm sure running them through the wash would just make them look better!
